I've known Haydée Zayas-Ramos for some years now. We
worked on a book some years ago and I had the great joy of working alongside her once more. She had published "La gata en la puerta" and "¿A dónde van los pájaros cuando llueve?" as two separate stories that she worked with the local Puerto Rican illustrator: Yolanda Velázquez Vélez. But she wanted to do a second launch of these stories in a single bounding cover, so she gave me a call and we made it happen. It was great!
I designed a couple of covers for her, before she decided on the one above. Here are two other covers I presented to her.
